Atlas

In longing there is a still breath
the timeless current of rivers
the fluid motion of air and water
in synchronized rhythm

in rhythm there is eternity
without origin, without end
the time lapsed line of the sun
a laceration through the sky

In sky there is immortality,
Immortals bear not free will
but disremember the self
unburdened from the yoke of duty
where mortals may rise from ash
born again in silt and haze

that is our hope
